Hallmark says 'I do' to gay marriage cards

advertisement

Most states don't recognize gay marriage - but now Hallmark does. The nation's largest greeting card company will now be selling same-sex wedding cards in their aisles. The cards will feature two tuxedos, overlapping hearts or intertwined flowers, with best wishes inside and say "Two hearts. One promise."

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Isn't it funny how a business will do anything to make one more buck. Sacrifice good taste to make another dollar. It is just disgusting!!

You said it!! Check out the other posts on this subject. Frankly, I think more people are going to stop buying at Hallmark because of this. They better take note and read some of this.

Email Hallmark at their web site (I did) www.hallmark.com. Let them know this is just WRONG.

You are why foreigners coined the term "ugly american". I just call it ignorant and prejudiced.

Does michigander mean you are from the midwest? You do know Hallmark and based in K.C. Missouri, the midwest. You seem to be a hick. I am a midwest girl myself, ye6t I am not prejudice and judgemental like you. You bring hatred to the world, you need to be tolerant of people different from you. Maybe go to church, temple or whatever you do, or are you an atheist ? (wouldn't surprise me a bit)

In a world in which there is violence, war, prejudice and intolerance, I applaud Hallmark for making such a bold move in coming out with gay marriage cards. Hallmark makes a card for EVERYTHING, so why not that. It's hip, its cool, it's now. This is 2008 folks, get with it. We have enough going on the world with the war, violence in and out of our country, and prejudice. We are all Americans, and should stick together, regardless of race, creed, religion or sexual preference. My husband recently retired from Hallmark (to raise our son who has autism), and to this day he praises Hallmark (they were good and supportive to our family). My husband still gives me a Hallmark card for my birthday, anniversary, and even nurse's day, and I love and save every one of them. By the way, Hallmark does have a card for inter-racial marriage, just ask the clerk in any Hallmark store. I love Hallmark, and their cards, and I congratulate them for their bold and daring new cards for same sex couples. STOP THE JUDGEMENT AND THE PREJUDICE!
